The Q-Cells subsidiary Sontor is a technology leader in the field of micromorph silicon thin film technology. The technology that makes it possible to manufacture a large number of solar modules from a small quantity of sand – the raw material for silicon – for producing sustainable and environmentally-friendly energy.

The first system using our micromorph silicon thin film solar modules has been installed and is reliably generating environmentally-friendly energy. Other systems will follow; mass production has commenced - this will enable more and more people to benefit from our technology and advances. Micromorphous silicon thin film technology will soon take its permanent place in the solar sector and in this way help to make photovoltaics mankind’s future energy source.
