In micromorph silicon thin film technology two layers of silicon - one amorph and one crystalline - are applied to a glass base. This tandem concept increases the module’s efficiency levl: the amorph film converts the visible part of the solar spectrum, the crystalline film the part in the near infrared range. Thanks to the significantly lower amount of silicon used compared with conventional technologies, not only are material costs markedly reduced but manufacturing costs as well - and all of this with a potential efficiency level in excess of 10%. The special size of the modules also produces costs savings compared with the solutions offered by other manufacturers. The micromorph silicon thin film technology also enables the modules to be installed easily and therefore at low cost: since the modules’ angles of inclination can be kept extremely flat there is no need for any time-consuming or expensive installation design.

Other advantages of our thin film modules are their very good heat resistance and superb Energy-Pay-Back-Time. The latter describes the time which the product needs to ‘repay’ the energy that was used in its manufacture. With our modules this figure is only approx. 2 years.
